too_many_rules

A policy diagnostic from deedglass policy lint and the policy routes.

Severity: error

The policy has more than 500 rules. Rules are read top to bottom, and a person reviewing the file has to be able to follow them. A policy with 501 rules gets:

  This policy has 501 rules; the limit is 500.
  hint: Combine rules with match globs and lists, or split the policy.

Fix: combine rules that differ only in a tool or an agent into one rule with a glob or a list, like match: { tool: ["github.create_issue", "github.create_comment"] }.
